Description

This environment was done for a job test application. An explorable open map environment done in UE5.

Goals

I started doing this environment taking care of the task assigned to me.

  1. First of all I started searching on platform like Pinterest or Artstation for some references, also to take inspiration for the mood of the environment.

  2. I studied the Medieval plan to make sure the environment could be realistic.

  3. I've searched on the Unreal Engine Marketplace for some assets i could use, helping me even with Megascans.

  4. Then i started drafting layout of the entire environment.

  5. I polished the layout making sure it could be easy to read for everyone (hypothetically for the team)

  6. After the layout was done i started doing a blockout based on the metrics of the layout (250x250squares each square is 2m)

  7. When the blockout and the polishing of the Landscape was finished, then i started the enrichment.

  8. At the end I did lighting.

One of the main problem was working with large measures (500m x 500m). Was challenging working with precise metrics with so large environment.
